Open

If you aren't a Regina Spektor fan then you probably are unaware that she just released a new album called What We Saw From the Cheap Seats. There are some really beautiful songs on it-one of my favorites being "Open".

A line in the song goes like this: "Potentially lovely. Perpetually human. Suspended and open." Gorgeous, right? And, its so true!

We are all potentially lovely, capable of such love, compassion, and forgiveness. But, to our dismay, we are also perpetually human-perpetually not perfect. How hard a concept that is to grasp! The idea of not being able to be perfect has always been difficult for me, and I suspect its hard for you too.

Regardless, we're all in this crazy, insane, roller-coaster ride called life. We're suspended, and hopefully open to all the amazing things that being on this earth has to offer. Closing off when life gets challenging is what we naturally gravitate towards (part of that whole perpetually human thing...), but we must fight! We have to fight against that nagging feeling to pull away.

Stay open, even when you feel suspended, alone, tired, etc. Stay open!

Okay, I'm rambling. And, probably sounding somewhat cheesy, forgive me :)
