I decided to do a playlist this week! I haven't used Grooveshark in forever, but I feel like its a little bit more accessible. In the past my playlists have been more conceptual. There is no rhyme or reason for these songs being together other than the simple fact that I am currently loving them. So, here are 12 songs that I'm diggin'. Enjoy :)

Good Tunes Tuesday // Sucré

I freakin' love Sucré. The leader singer, Stacy, is from Eisley. The guitarist is Darren, the drummer from Mutemath. And, the cellist is Jeremy Larson, who arranges and sings his own solo music (which is also beautiful, check it out). Seriously though, Stacy's voice just puts me in a trance it's so gorgeous.

This is a new cover they posted recently. It's called "Place To Be" and was originally performed by Nick Drake. Enjoy :)

Good Tunes Tuesday // Beach House

Beach House. Ah, what a wonderful Baltimore band. Their song New Year seemed fitting, dontchya think? :) This video was made by the band. It's footage that they taped while recording in Texas this past year. Enjoy!

Good Tunes Tuesday // Snow

This time next week is Christmas day!! I am so excited to see most of my family and get all gussied up. Speaking of getting gussied up...this past Sunday my Aunt took me to see White Christmas at the Kennedy Center in D.C.! It was so much fun getting all dressed up, eating delicious food at The Rumor Mill in Old Ellicott City, and watching a wonderful performance at one of the most beautiful theaters I've ever been to! 

 

White Christmas is arguably my favorite Christmas movie. The music, the actors, and dancing-it's magic. Here is one of my favorite songs from the move:

This weeks song is To Be With You by The Honey Trees. I love Becky's vocals-gorgeous-and the amount of whimsy incorporated into every song. Plus, they have awesome style ;). They are about to start working on a new CD and will be collaborating with the ever talented Jeremy Larson. Excited!

Currently obsessed with Ben Howard. This song Only Love is gorgeous and perfect for a Fall inspired playlist :)

I think this video is so cute and the song is just epic. M83 is one of my favorite bands because of their ability to move the listener. I seriously cannot believe I haven't seen them in concert yet. What has become of me? :P

A little late...but better late than never right? Au Revoir Simone has been a favorite of mine for quite some time but it hasn't been until recently that I've seen music video's of theirs. I love this one! Enjoy :)

Good Tunes Tuesday // Thoughtful Summer Angst

Last evening during my awesome day of relaxation and rest I watched The Art of Getting By. Let me just say, for the record, that I love coming-of-age stories. They usually end up being some of favorite films. While I wouldn't say The Art of Getting By is one of my all time favorites, I did like it and I found it very thought provoking. A couple of the songs from this movie can be found in this weeks playlist because, well, the theme of the movie is what inspired the theme of this collection of songs. 

The theme is thoughtful angst; learning about the toughness of the world by way of thoughtful questioning. And, because it's Summertime I thought, why not put a playful twist on it? Why not take the negativity out of that growing up process? Yes, you are allowed to call me an idealist... :)

Good Tunes Tuesday // Jazzy-Poppy-Folky

So, I've decided that every other week for Good Tunes Tuesday I will post a playlist I have created on Spotify! If you don't have Spotify, well, you should get it. It's awesome. 


This week I was inspired by Zee Avi to make a playlist that contained artists that incorporate a little jazz, a little pop, and a little folk into their music. The combination that comes from this is beautiful and interesting and different. I love it. Enjoy :)

A couple days late with this post! Whoops! This past Monday, on Memorial Day, my brother came over for a visit bringing coffee, bagels, and his guitar. We decided on a couple songs we want to learn together and I can't wait to share with you guys those covers as soon as we record the videos :) In the meantime, here is one of the songs we plan on covering.
