outfit // vermillion

Cleaning, shopping, discovering a bunch of new music, seeing friends, and starting work again-this is the stuff that has been making up my life lately. I don't hate it. ;) I've also been reading a bunch of goal-related articles and blog posts. Every year I strive to be a little bit more productive. I just loved this one quote that I came across...

"You can, you should, and if you're brave enough to start, you will."

I don't know about you, but that quote helps me feel a little less scared of failing, a little less focused on success, and a little more focused on just creating.Photobucket
Oh, I guess I should talk about the outfit right? :P You know, I just woke up this morning and thought *warmth*. One sweater, two boots, and one scarf later and I could feel my toes again.

My favorite color is vermillion and I love pairing an article of clothing in this color with matching lipstick. That concept, in my opinion, works best when everything else is kept simple.

Anywayzz, enjoy the rest of your week, guys! :D

outfit // baked + wired

Hello all! So, this time last week I got to go into Washington D.C.! I have to say, traveling to DC is a horribly rotten experience. However, once I'm there...wow, I just love it. There is a grandness there that you don't get in any other city in the U.S. So, after getting cut off a zillion times, regretting not taking the metro more times than that, and squeezing my car through the very narrow streets of Georgetown, I was there. And, then I promptly got all starry-eyed. :)

Of course, when one is in D.C. one must try to at least look somewhat put together! You all know I'm obsessed with stripes. So, I paired my striped shirt with all black clothing which included my favorite boots (seychelles combat boots for the win!) and my newly found hat!

The reason I was in D.C. in the first place was to finally meet up with one of my personal style blogger friends, Gina, from Tulle & Combat Boots. We met awhile back through ModCloth's ModSquad group. We've always wanted to meet up because we live so close to one another, but we just never got around to it. I'm so glad it finally worked out because she is so much fun and just as lovely and stylish in person as she is on her blog.
She suggested Baked + Wired, a wonderful café and cupcake shop! While there, I got one of the best cappuccinos that I've had in awhile. It went perfectly with the worlds most delicious cupcake. Um, and check out that awesome napkin art wall!Photobucket
I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday and are eating lots of yummy treats! :D

outfit // parka

*Gives readers big huge hug* Thanks for being so patient guys! As you probably have noticed it's been awhile since I've posted anything on here. I have some technical difficulties. I'm still not really sure if I have permanently solved them, but temporarily...yes. A lot has happened in the past two or three weeks. I started in my new classroom at work. Thanksgiving happened. Black Friday came and went. And, I (with the help of my family) have decorated my house into a winter wonderland. :)

This blouse may or may not have been inspired by Taylor Swift's album art. But ya know, I just love it.  I love the bold contrast of the black piping and buttons against the white fabric. And, I also recently found my parka. Yay!! Pairing the parka with a more sophisticated black and white ensemble seemed to clash in the very best way ("clashing in the very best way"=complimenting...Because only weird people use correct terminology).

Below is a pic of the family member's on my Mom's side of the family that I got to see on Thanksgiving. It was so much fun getting some of the family together. I find that I enjoy them more and more the older I get. Side note: Is there anyway I can have these leftovers again??
