Outfit // Park Day

Recently I spent some time at Centennial Park in Ellicott City. Grabbed some food, took it to a picnic table, tried to keep baby caterpillars out of my salad, you know, the norm. My friend and I took our iced coffee and walked around the park which was so great! I love those moments where you just get to relax in nature and have good conversation...with coffee (duh.). For those of you that don't know, I think the trail around the lake is about 3 miles long. So, um, lets just say I was regretting the shoe choice I had made.
Gorgeous, huh? I don't appreciate Centennial Park nearly as much as I should.
So with this outfit I wanted to try playing with proportions a little. I chose a long flowy top and short, tight shorts. Between the long sleeve top and the boots I was wearing, I felt like it was a really great Summer to Fall transition outfit. And again, I wore black and white. I really need to mix it up, don't I? Eh, I don't think I'll ever get enough of it :)

This dress was meant to be. A couple of months ago, when I first saw it on ModCloth's site, I fell in love with it. At the time I had been waiting on a couple of checks to come through from work and was currently broke. I decided it wasn't practical and cried myself to sleep (okay, maybe that didn't happen).  A month later the dress was restocked in my size when I actually had money. Ta da! It's pretty much my favorite dress to wear right now. Also, can I be a hat person, please? I'm going to make that happen.

Now, I don't usually wear this much black. But I was really digging the street style edgy look. To me this look is kind of rocker girl meets quirky weirdo. I mean, I have swan heads on my dress. I also haven't worn my blazer in a bajillion years. I forgot how much sophistication is brought to an outfit with the addition of one of these puppies.

I found this random place at Columbia Mall that had this really cool mural goin' on. I instantly knew I had to have my blog pics taken there. I love when you just happen upon awesomeness. My photographer this week was the lovely Brittanie Lawson who always manages to take creative pictures for my posts. Thanks Britt!
Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend!

Hello friends! Obviously, these photos are a little old, because right now Baltimore has a few inches of snow on the ground! I love snow, I really do. As long as I am a) in comfy clothes, sipping on something warm, and watching a movie, or b) skiing, tubing, sledding, or doing something that requires you to be in one pace all bundled up, then I'm golden. Driving home during rush hour? Not so much. But I made it home alive and got to enjoy the snow from the warm side of the window :)

My new satchel and my new watch. I'm in love with both, but I'm especially fond of my awesome wrist-watch. It's masculine in size but so feminine and dainty in the details. And, rose gold? I love you. Also, targets satchels are all on clearance right now...so, yeah, hurry up and go buy some! I personally walked out with two new purses after parading around the store asking the cashiers to help me decide XD.

Hot pink is such a fun pop of color to add to so many outfits. I thought the pumpkiny orange paired with it was really quite fun.
Anyway, enjoy the rest of your weekend, guys! Get rested and have fun! :)

January Wishlist

These are some things that I have been loving this month. I know I've been doing "Friday I'm in Love" posts for some time now but I've decided to do a monthly roundup of clothing and home items that I'm loving and leave articles, blogs, videos, and general inspiration to my regular Friday posts. The change is really for me-I need to stop looking at clothes online so often!
Anyway, I didn't realize that this months wishlist clothing and accessory items could actually be a pretty cute outfit-ha! This swan dress is seriously to die for and I love the rocker-chic vibe of the bracelet and the boots. Also, Ikea has some pretty cool stuff right now in their textiles section, totally check it out! David's tea, while I've never tried it, looks amazing. The flavor that caught my eye first was their red velvet cake tea-yum!!

outfit // my heart completely

This past weekend was a whirlwind of both productivity and time with friends. Kinda the perfect mixture, right? Sometimes what helps me get things done is just going to a local coffee shop, sitting down and focusing on one thing. This time the one thing was finishing my Europe journal. I know, I know...it's been about a month since I returned from Europe. During the last few days of my trip I never got around to recording my experiences and I do not want to forget them. Better late than never!
As you can see I'm wearing faux fur (::gasp::). I honestly cannot remember the last time I wore something furry. It's not really my thing, but as I was sifting through my closet getting rid of old clothes I found this vest. I thought, why not? It made me feel kinda diva-ish. Look out BeyoncĂ©, here I come.
I'd like to introduce my favorite little creature, Milo. He is all mine and I'm kinda obsessed with him. Since he's an all black cat it's really difficult to get a good picture that shows him in all his cuteness. He goes outside and tears up the world like a beast and then comes inside to cuddle with you for hours. Yeah, he's pretty bad ass.
One thing I got to do this weekend was go to a concert with my friend Grace! Seeing bands live is one of my favorite things in the world to do, especially when it's an awesome band like Gungor. They were absolutely incredible! Also, a big thanks to my friend Damaris for letting me wear her glasses for this pic! I look all nice and hipstery :P
Yesterday I got to go to Sheetz (a restaurant NOT a gas station). Some friends and I drove 40 minutes to try all their new pumpkin drinks. Yummmmm! Oh, this is my friend Kristen who wouldn't get out of my picture I was trying to take of the freakin' sweet blending bar they have :D.

I hope your weekend was relaxing and wonderful, too!!
